MSC, Virgin Voyages and Disney Rewards
Three programs that count voyages, not nights.
Get Quotes That Keep Your RewardsThree popular lines run rewards programs that work quite differently from the night-counting giants. MSC awards points by voyage and experience, Virgin Voyages counts completed voyages, and Disney counts completed Disney cruises.
MSC Voyagers Club
MSC’s program has five levels: Welcome (which applies to your first cruise only), Classic, Silver, Gold and Diamond. Points are awarded per cruise, and the amount depends on three things: the experience you book (for example Bella, Fantastica, Aurea or the MSC Yacht Club), your cabin type and the length of the cruise. Booking a higher experience on a longer sailing therefore moves you up faster than adding nights alone. MSC also publishes a status match program for members of other loyalty programs, with one request allowed per guest and levels assigned at MSC’s own conversion rates.
Virgin Voyages Sailing Club
Virgin enrolls you automatically after one eligible paid voyage. Sail twice and Blue Extras apply from your third voyage, including dedicated Sailor Services support, a cocktail event, a bag of laundry and specialty coffee. After four completed voyages, Deep Blue Extras apply on your fifth, adding pressing and cleaning services and more specialty coffee. Virgin’s terms say these perks run on eligible voyages through the end of 2026, and its Sailing Club page describes them continuing through 2028 for existing members, so confirm the current terms. Virgin has also run status match rounds for elite members of other travel programs.

Disney Castaway Club
Disney Cruise Line’s Castaway Club has four levels: Silver, Gold, Platinum and Pearl, the top level, introduced in 2023 for guests with 25 or more completed Disney cruises. Levels follow the number of completed sailings, not nights, so three short cruises can count for more than one long one. The most valued perks are earlier booking and planning windows for new itineraries and onboard activities. Disney’s terms say membership ends if you go five years without booking or completing an eligible Disney cruise, and that program benefits can change.
Getting More From These Programs
- On MSC, compare the experience levels: a higher experience can add both comfort and points.
- On Virgin, count your voyages before you book; the third and fifth sailings are when new perks begin.
- On Disney, keep your membership active within the five-year window, especially if you value early booking.
- On all three, check whether a status match is open if you hold elite status elsewhere.

MSC, Virgin and Disney Questions
Does MSC Voyagers Club count nights?
Not directly. MSC awards points per cruise, with the total depending on the experience you book, your cabin type and the length of the cruise.
Do Virgin Voyages Access Key bookings count?
Virgin says Access Key bookings do not count toward the voyages that earn Sailing Club perks.
Can Disney Castaway Club membership lapse?
Yes. Disney’s terms say membership ends if you do not book or complete another eligible Disney cruise within five years of your last one.
